2023 Ford Bronco Review| Bronco Raptor Explained
Sometimes it seems like a new model has reached its pinnacle. That was the way it looked with the 2022 Ford Bronco, but here is the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor to prove that theory wrong. As the new top trim level, it makes this SUV even more fun on the trail.
With four-wheel drive and a high-clearance build, the Bronco arrives ready for adventure. Sasquatch packages make it simple to add the maximum equipment with the minimum fuss. Then there’s the Bronco Raptor ready to go further and do more.
In this Bronco review, you’ll find out whether this open air ride is right for your lifestyle. Keep scrolling to find trim levels, performance capability, and details on the new Heritage editions.
Better Four Wheel Drive = Happy Adventures Ahead
With four-wheel drivetrains on every 2023 Ford Bronco, there is definitely adventure ahead for anyone who buys or leases this model year. Adding to that capability, Broncos have a High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension. Even if the equipment stopped there, this SUV would already be far ahead of most SUVs today.
However, Ford keeps piling it on. The GOAT system includes up to four off-road choices and 7 driving modes total. For our climate, there’s the Slippery and Sand mode as well as the Baja mode. You also get Mud and Ruts and, of course, Rock Crawl, depending on the trim level and/or package.
The base four-wheel drive is an effective two-speed transfer case with electronic shift on the fly capability. Stepping up, the advanced four-wheel drivetrain lets you choose between 2H and 4H when on the trail.
The 2.3-liter I-4 turbocharged engine delivers 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. You can step up to the 2.7-liter Ecoboost and control 330 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque.
Open Air Driving
The 2023 Ford Bronco is available in a 2-door or 4-door style. This unique SUV is one of only two on the market to offer open air driving. It has a sharp turning radius and all overhangs are built tight to maximize agility on the trail.
A removable roof is available in soft-top and hard-top varieties. Outwitting the Jeep Wrangler, the Bronco has class-exclusive frameless doors that can be tucked into the cargo compartment. You don’t even have to worry about visibility due to the exclusive cowl-mounted style of the mirrors.
Bronco Sasquatch Package = Fun for Every Owner
When it comes to off-roading equipment, Ford doesn’t hold it all back for the top trims. The Bronco Sasquatch package makes excitement more affordable for Big Bend, Black Diamond or Badlands owners.
Sasquatch models are the tallest since they have a high-clearance suspension. Better off-roading is achieved with long travel dampers and Bilstein components. Dana electronic axles aid front and rear suspension strength and capability.
With this package, Broncos are more planted due to a wider rear track. This is emphasized by wider fender flares. For protection, there are super-strong bash plates. Enormous 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain tires are made to find traction and hold it. At your test drive, our staff can show you these and other features that make the Bronco such an outstanding off-roader. Schedule online.
Throwback for Fun = Heritage Editions
While the Bronco nameplate was only recently brought back, you’ll find Ford Broncos were first introduced in 1966. To celebrate those originals, the 2023 Bronco Heritage and Bronco Heritage Limited editions are available.
It’s all about color and style with thes e two. Providing contrast to your body color choice, there’s an Oxford White roof and a side stripe. Adding to the design, the grille is painted white. A Race Red accent is provided by the Bronco lettering.
From the curb, you’ll notice Oxford White wheels on the Heritage. On the Heritage Limited, the throwback look includes dog dish centers on glossy black wheels with a white lip accent.
Among the exterior colors offered, you’ll find shades that date back to the original. Special color choices include Robin’s Egg Blue, Yellowstone Metallic, and Peak Blue.
2023 Ford Raptor = Excellence
The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor has a 418 horsepower engine that creates 440 lb-ft of torque. This remarkable Ecoboost engine is a 3-liter V6 twin turbocharged powertrain. With power like that, the 2023 Bronco Raptor driver can expect the best slow-speed and high-speed off-roading performance.
Raptor drivers can take for granted that they will have all of the equipment in the Trail Toolbox package offered on other models. Slow-speed cruise control is achieved with Trail Control. Drivers can maintain control and still enjoy the ease of Trail One-Pedal Drive.
By allowing different wheels on the same axle to turn at different angles, Trail Turn Assist makes it so much easier to maneuver a large SUV on the trail. This is one Ford tool which rivals don’t have yet. If you want this type of off-road capability from a different ride, your only other choice is the F-150 Raptor. There are just things this ride can do that challenge the capability of a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392.
New Ford Bronco Raptors have a distinct interior from its laser-perforated suede upholstery to its available orange seatbelts. Leather-clad front-seat bolsters complement the Black Onyx Neo inserts. Other elements include the soft-vinyl dashboard and sport-contour steering wheel.

Long Lasting Quality and Style = Handsome Interiors
The standard Bronco is anything but standard. It has ample dash tech including a large touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Drivers will appreciate how the Big Bend provides comfortable seating and favorite amenities. Owners will focus on the list of driver assistance.
Ready to go anywhere thanks to the Sasquatch package, the Heritage edition starts with the Big Bend trim level. Bronco Heritage models definitely have a unique throwback look. It’s a combination of cool Navy Pier plaid style. This is offset by red stitching on the upholstery and Oxford White as instrument trim.
Ambient lighting and adaptive cruise control are among the many reasons people choose the Outer Banks or Wildtrak. Dual-zone automatic climate controls may make you forget about Phoenix heat.
Marine grade vinyl seats are easy to clean in the Black Diamond and Badland models. Standard MOLLE straps keep your stuff in place when bouncing around the trail. Floors are rubberized for effective cleaning.
With features more like Badlands trim levels, Heritage Limited models combine leather and throwback plaid. The interior is spiced up with Race Red and Oxford White elements.
From everyday commuting to remarkable adventures, the Ford Bronco is hard to beat. You can check it out in our inventory.
