Racy Mustang Editions
The 60th Anniversary is marked by a special 2025 Ford Mustang. Available as a coupe or convertible, it marks 1965, when the Mustang was formally introduced to the American public.
Then there’s the exciting 2025 Ford Mustang DarkHorse. This racy Mustang has a Modified Gen-4 5.0L Coyote™ V8 Engine. You may not care what that means, but you’ll love the command of 500 horsepower.
Design and Exterior
Establishing itself as unique, the 60th Anniversary Mustang has many nostalgic exterior touches. It starts with red, white or blue exterior colors with silver or red graphics. The badges are cloisonné, a special colored glass art form that was used on the original 1965 Mustangs. A red center cap adds a throwback accent on the dark gravity gray five-spoke wheels.GT Fastback models add hood vents.
Of course, you don’t have to go for a special edition to enjoy Mustang bling. The Hood and Side Stripe collection offers Black Step Opacity, Gray Scale Opacity, Tarnished Dark High Gloss with Shadow Black, and many more. Over-the-top Racing Stripes are offered in gloss gray, semi-gloss black, special accent patterns and other cool styles. Matte black with a red accent is sure to be a popular color choice for hood, side and roof stripes.
Even at night, LED sequential tail lights proclaim that this is a Ford Mustang. Shoppers can choose a blade or wedge decklid spoiler. These can stay the body color or be painted shadow black.
Dark Horse models offer a shadow-black performance spoiler with a Gurney Flap. The strut tower brace is painted silver for more flash.
Interior and Comfort
This modern cockpit is packed with goodies. Push button start, an electric parking brake, and a 12.4-inch LCD cluster demonstrate easily just how much time has passed since the original.
A flat-bottom steering wheel is one of many sporty details that establish the Mustang vibe. Practical features for driving enthusiasts range from basics like the driver footrest to high-tech toys such as the Ford Track Apps.
The four-person cabin has a more spacious backseat than the typical four-seater. However, the focus is on driver comfort and driving excitement. Premium models add MyColor ambient lighting. Dark Horse models have a special Titanium Anodized Blue accent.
Performance and Engine Options
Every Mustang promises some thrilling times behind the wheel. The 2.3 Ecoboost engine is the most powerful standard engine ever. The Darkhorse has the most powerful naturally aspirated engine in Mustang history.
The 2.3L EcoBoost® engine cranks out 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The Mustang® GT Gen-4 5.0L Coyote™ V8 engine is outstanding. Output is 486 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the Mustang® Dark Horse driver increases that output to a rousing 500 horsepower.
Selectable effort is key to Mustang handling. This alters electric power-assisted steering to suit the driver. The car’s independent rear suspension adds to its racy response on curves and turns.
An exciting Drift Brake is a class-first option. This device adds more fun when you take the Mustang to the track. The GT automatic has a 3.15 limited-slip rear axle to increase fun on the road.
The awesome Ford 10-speed automatic transmission is tuned for the specific powertrain, helping it capture more speed.
Technology and Connectivity Features
The Mustang cockpit has an Information on Demand Message Center. This 12.4-inch LCD digital cluster gives the driver all the feedback needed for fast and fun travel. Connectivity is easy with FordPass Connect, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, and available SiriusXM Radio.
The Sync touchscreen works well with touch or voice. Plus you can use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. These systems let you download a map app to the screen.
2025 Mustang Prices and Trim Levels
Ford continues to offer the most capability at the most affordable price in the Mustang’s sports car class. Shoppers can get the Ecoboost or Ecoboost Premium in convertible or coupe styles, while enjoying Ecoboost spirit.
The Premium trim level adds a 9-speaker sound system, aluminum foot pedals, and a wireless charger. Drivers and front-seat passengers enjoy power-adjustable heated seats. Phoenix drivers will love the power-cooled front seats and automatic air conditioning controls.
Packages and higher trims add dressy leather upholstery with special color accents. Our favorite will always be the RECARO leather or microsuede sports seats. Dark Horse models boast a 12-speaker B&O sound system and ventilated seats.
